Pional aka Miguel Barros - multi-instrumentalist, empyrean vocalist, top-drawer DJ, composer and producer - was at one time Spain’s best kept electronic underground secret. His prodigious talents came to the fore in 2010 with releases over two years via close confidant John Talabot’s Hivern Discs and Munich’s Permanent Vacation. Sprawling across the washed house and disco spectrum, they traced a line between Moodymann, Matias Aguayo, Caribou and Grizzly Bear. 2012 also saw Pional grace Talabot’s acclaimed debut album "Fin" on the tracks 'Destiny' and 'So Will Be Now' - the latter, another gem in an ever expanding catalogue that has won the approval of James Holden, James Murphy and Tim Sweeney (Beats In Space) to name a few. Not content with success on wax, Pional was an integral part of Talabot’s celebrated live show that opened for The xx and toured the US & Europe throughout 2012 with the performance featuring prominently in Resident Advisor’s “Top 20 live acts of 2012”. Now firmly an electronic mainstay and top-billing DJ in his own right, Pional returned to his Lost Scripts alias with Talabot to release his debut EP on Young Turks in 2014. The same year he wrote a song for the Divina Pastora Marathon in Valencia (Spain); released a collaborative EP with Henry Saiz; and unveiled a slew of edits of Little Dragon, Rosie Lowe, Jessie Ware, Empress Of and more, including Jamie xx the following year. 2015 saw something of a homecoming with Pional headlining Boiler Room’s showcase at Primavera - something of a local legend nowadays, he’s annually found closing out the festivities. Now in 2016 with another Lost Scripts 12” on the way he’s also released a new track on Counter Records (home to Howling, Maribou State and David August).
